03 Jul One Year VDK Capital
Dear all,
It was a little over one year ago that I first wrote to you with the news that I had decided to establish VDK Capital. I wanted to use my time and skills to try to make a difference and focus on people and things that really matter.
The focus and commitment that prompted me to make this fundamental change in my life remain firmly in place today. Back then, the coronavirus was in its infancy, and none
of us knew how the following year would unfold.
The way that the pandemic has developed and changed our lives fundamentally has only strengthened my resolve about how important and relevant VDK Capital can be. People
want to live different lives than they did before COVID took hold, and we will be there to address these new priorities. They are fundamental to what we want to do.
VDK Capital has also grown recently, with the addition of Marta Brime and Richard
Jones to the team. Marta and Richard will be providing legal, communications and
strategic support to VDK Capital as we grow in the coming months.
We also decided that a portion of VDK Capital’s fees will be donated to Cris Cancer UK
and Pancreatic Cancer UK in memory of my brother Christos Karatzenis, who passed
away in 2020 fighting pancreatic cancer. Supporting and donating to cancer research
can make a difference and hopefully save many lives. Additionally, another portion of
our fees will be donated to environmental charities.
These are exciting times, and we’re ready to embrace them and invest in people and ideas that will make a difference. When I last wrote to you, I described the creation of VDK Capital as an adventure. That has been the case so far, and the best is yet to come.
